Shropshire Learning Network

All who contribute to, or support, education and training for learners 14-19/ 25 (aged 14 -19 and up to age 25 for high needs learners) in Shropshire have committed themselves to the Shropshire Learning Network (SLN).

Forums

The role of the 14-19/ 25 network is to develop plans aligned with LA statutory responsibility and national direction as well as encompassing and acknowledging local provider views.

The network will focus on the development of sufficient/ accessible/ local/ sustainable/ high quality provision. Progression and supporting all learners 14-19/ 25 at key transition points will also be key drivers for the network.

Strategic aims for the 14-19/ 25 phase in Shropshire are determined by the following:-

1. Participation, Engagement and Progression 

2. Quality Improvement

3. Skills Development 

Core membership of the SLN will consist of as a minimum:-

• Officers from the LA
• Work Based Learning Training Provider Representative
• High Needs Representative
• FE Representative
• 11-18 School /Academy Representative
• Representative from Shropshire Business Board
• Representative from Marches LEP
• Representation from each Area Forums
(Other representation will be by invitation as and when appropriate).

Frequency of meetings.There will be a minimum of 3 meetings every academic year. Operational activity will primarily be devolved to task and finish groups representing key providers. Reports and updates will be issued to full partnership meetings as applicable.
