Information regarding the services provided to schools by the Council’s internal Audit Section is now available on the SLG.  The pages also contain two self-help facilities which schools can employ:

• For schools seeking continual improvement of their financial and governance processes, a self-assessment tool has been introduced which will help governors, head teachers, bursars, finance officers, and administrative staff evaluate their processes and ensure robust controls are in place.  This is particularly helpful for schools which have not received an audit recently.
• A counter fraud self-assessment tool to help schools recognise and manage the risk of fraud.  Associated information also acts as a reminder of what actions to take if a fraud is suspected.

Internal Audit are keen to support schools in relation to their risk management, internal control and governance processes, and would welcome all feedback on their pages to help drive and identified improvements.
