January 2016 saw the launch of the Inspire to Learn Stakeholder Group (ILSG).  The ILSG is made up of representatives from primary, secondary and special schools, and will draw on the experience of headteachers, school business managers and governors.  There is a need for further headteacher and governor representation which is being worked on.

The Group has requested that a survey of all Inspire to Learn’s services be undertaken.  The results of this survey will allow the Group to assess current perceptions of services from the perspective of schools, as well as where services are being delivered well and those that are in need of further improvement.

The services delivered through the Inspire to Learn brand and under consideration for this survey are as follows:

• Education Access Service
• Education Improvement Service
• Schools Finance
• Governor Services
• HR Development & Advice
• ICT Services (SITSS)
• Information, Advice & Guidance
• Occupational Health/Health & Safety
• Premises Services
• Recruitment, Payroll & Contracts
• School Library Service
• Shire Services (Catering)
• Shire Services (Cleaning)
• Shropshire Music Service.

The feedback from this survey will determine the Group’s focus and programme of work over the next calendar year.  This will include calling in Inspire to Learn service managers to discuss the quality, value and choice offered in their respective service areas, with priority being given to the services that are perceived to require the greatest scrutiny.  It may also lead to further follow up, service-specific and targeted surveys later in the year.

This survey is fairly straightforward.  However, as we are seeking school views across a number of services, it will take a little while to complete.  While acknowledging this, your co-operation in completing the survey would be greatly appreciated, particularly where you have strong views (both positive and negative) that the ILSG and service managers need to be aware of.
